March for Babies!!

We did it! We went to the fairgrounds on Sunday and did the walk. The kids did exceptional considering the 90 degree weather. Boy, the walk was a lot longer than I had anticipated. We made it though.

I want to thank everyone who gave to the March of Dimes. Our babies wouldn't be here if it weren't for them. It is amazing the wonderful things this organization does.

Messy, Messy, Messy

I don't know what it is about Ethan, but he is a complete mess. I took a picture of him the other day after breakfast. He can take a piece of bread and find a way to get it smeared all over him. Landon is like all the other kids. He gets a little messy but nothing even close to Ethan.

Ethan, Bubby, I love you! One day I will miss your food covered face. You are such a blessing to our family!

My Heart Swells...

Peyton is so goofy. He looked at me this morning while we were eating breakfast and gave me the biggest smile. I immediately started laughing. I hope this isn't a precursor to what is to come. After I laughed at him and took a few pictures he thought putting anything in his nose was funny. I hope we haven't started something.

I have to say, I love my kids more and more everyday. Today wasn't the greatest of days, but they never fail to show me how much they love me. It has taken a while, but the love isn't a one way street anymore. They overflow with love and kisses all the time. Even if they have gotten in trouble. I have never felt so needed and loved. They truly appreciate me in their own way.

I decided last week that I needed to step out and take them out with me by myself. I got them dressed last Friday and we headed to the bank. I decided before I left the house that I would hold my head high no matter what happened. We bought harnesses last week for our church's Easter Eggstravaganza. So, I harnessed them up and we were on our way.

Have any of you put a leash on a cat? We had a cat before we had the kids. One day we put a leash on him in an attempt to tie him up so he wouldn't run too far away from home. Well, he was paralyzed by the leash. he hunkered down to the ground and wouldn't move. That is exactly what the kids acted like. They couldn't walk. It was rather comical. I was trying to get them to walk to the door of the bank and they acted like they didn't have a clue what to do. In the end, they made it in and out okay and we learned a valuable lesson. I need to take the kids out much more than I ever have. They behaved okay, but it was obvious that they don't know what to do in public. So, we will be doing much more going out and discovering a whole new world. Wish us luck!
Here are some pictures of us playing outside the other day.

4 Mommies + 4 Daddies = 22 Kids

Brooks & Sara Tyre, Jameson & Paula Chan, Me & Rob

Well, here we are. Rob and I got to drive up to Indy this weekend to meet some friends for the afternoon. We had the Best time! All four sets of parents have quints! The Tyre's win the crazy prize because they have 7 kids. (HAHA just kidding) We had lunch and then hit the miniature golf course for a friendly game of putt putt. It started out that way at least. Rob may not be invited anymore after the shot-by-shot commentating. It was hilarious to watch Brooks Tyre choke time after time while Rob scrutinized his every move. I have to say, the Tyre's and Chan's took Rob's humor very well. Those of you who know Rob know exactly what I am talking about. Needless to say, we had a great time and are already planning our next gathering.

P.S. Murray's and Burkett's, we missed you guys! Hopefully you can make it next time.

Hair Cuts and Egg Hunts

We have had a fun filled Easter holiday already. Yesterday we relaxed and let the kids have their Easter baskets. We knew we would be on the go today and tomorrow. They loved what was in their baskets. The cars dancing cars and sunglasses were a hit. I took Ethan for a haircut yesterday morning and Landon went for his with Rob last night. All of Ethan's curls were clipped off. He looks like such a big boy now. Landon had his first haircut. He still doesn't have much but I think it will start to fill in now that it has been trimmed.

Today we got up early to go to Great Grandma and Papaw Tony's house for Easter. We ate breakfast and hunted eggs. It didn't take them long to figure out that the eggs had candy in them. Landon was so engrossed in finding more eggs that he wondered right into the muddy garden. We were laughing and trying to get his attention so much that all four of the others headed straight for the garden too. They loved it out there. We will have to visit more often to have some fun outside.

P.S. Lord, thank you for sending your son to come here on Earth to die on a cross for my sins. I know Easter is filled with candy and eggs and family, but you are the reason we all come together to worship you tomorrow. Your son gave the ultimate gift. We will make sure our kids grow up knowing the true meaning of Easter.

Women of Joy...

I left Friday for Louisville, KY to attend the Women of Joy Conference. I have to admit, I wasn't very excited this year because I had been away from the kids so much the previous week while Jenna was in the hospital. I have to say, I had a blast!! I feel completely refreshed and ready to jump back into things.
Friday we got to listen to Candace Cameron Bure (DJ from Full House). She was amazing and so down to Earth. Saturday morning Lisa Hart and Shonda Pierce. That evening Casting Crowns did a concert for everyone and they were awesome. Sunday morning we were blessed to hear Karen Kingsbury speak. She is the best fiction author I have ever read. The worship leader was Charles Billingsly. He is so gifted. He has an amazing voice.
Scott and Melissa Reeves are good friends of Karen and her family. They were all staying in our hotel. Saturday night we got back to our hotel and ran into the entire group of them. Scott was walking by and he came over to talk to us. In case some of you don't know who he is, he played Ryan in The Young and the Restless. His wife Melissa played Jennifer in Days of Our Lives. I haven't ever watched those shows, but lots of the women with me had. So, we all got to talking with Scott. Like always, someone makes sure they mention that I have quintuplets. That is when I made the connection. Have any of you HOM moms out there watched Half a Dozen Babies? It is a movie that was made about the Dilley Sextuplets in Indianapolis. I have seen it a few times. The movie will be on LMN (Lifetime Movie Network) on April 10 at 9:00 CT. Scott and Melissa are the parents on that movie. The picture below is small but the best I could find.

So, they took a picture with me and signed a picture of my kids. I have to say, they are so nice and genuine. It is neat to meet people who are in the spotlight and still live for the Lord. We don't see all the amazing work they do behind the scenes for God. Scott is a huge believer in Karen Kingsbury and loves to read her books. That is unusual since most men assume they are romance novels. Maybe I will be able to get Rob to try one now.
I had an awesome weekend and am so refreshed and renewed. The kids were glad to see me too. God knows just what we need to get going again. I can't wait to go next year!
