Five Little Monkeys Jumpin In The Bed...

NONE fell out and bumped their head!! Yesterday at around 2:30 Landon started screaming during their nap. I don't generally let them up before 3:00, but he was really screaming. As I got closer to their room I noticed the noise was right by the door. When I opened the door I saw Landon trying his hardest to get the door open and Peyton having the time of his life. He was running around in the curtains and playing with the toys on the floor. I bought 3 used crib tents about 6 months ago anticipating this day. Thankfully I was prepared. They thought the tents were so cool in the beginning. Everyone got in and jumped around. Now, Peyton and Landon don't think they are very cool.

On a side note, tomorrow is the kids 2 year check-up. Keep us in your prayers. Jenna had to go to the doctor yesterday for a double ear infection. She has dropped 5oz from her 18month check-up. Dr. Goldman wants to sit down and discuss other avenues for her again. Yes, this means a feeding tube. I really don't want to do this, but I don't want to hinder her growth either. We will investigate all avenues of this and hopefully come up with something else. As of yesterday she weighed 18lbs 11oz. I don't know what else to do.

As a mommy and a nurse, I agree with you. Jenna seems like a very energetic, happy 2 year old who is doing everything developmentally that she should. I just don't see that a G-tube is the solution. I don't know how quick it would help her gain weight, but have you tried getting her to drink Pediasure? My kids have always been on the small side and my son loves them. We call them milkshakes and he sucks them down. I'm sure they wouldn't hurt in the weight gain department if used in place of whole milk every now and then. Just an idea...good luck. The kids are all adorable as always!!

I dont know all of Jenna's history so forgive me if I am offering advice on things you have already done.

Before agreeing to a G-tube, I would ask if an NG-tube is an opotion for a few months. I would also looking into nutrition suppliments

Benecalorie:
The next evolution in the fight against unintended weight loss, Resource Benecalorie provides more nutrition in every bite- a whopping 330 calories in just 1.5 ounces.
Resource Benecalorie has 7 grams of protein and 100% of the RDI for vitamins C and E, and the neutral flavor mixes easily into supplements, milk shakes and soft foods.

Resource also makes a "fruit drink" that is high calories, and nutrition. There is also a yougurt you can get via RX that has 350 calories per 4oz.

I think she'll be just fine wo/a feeding tube...she just might be a picky eater. I think looking into nutrition suppliments would be the best route. We'll keep ya in our prayers and hope everything goes fine!

Awesome "tent" for your little monkeys! Also great that you were prepared for this day and had the crib tents on hand.

Sorry to hear about Jenna's weight gaining struggle. I hope you and Dr Goldman can come up with something that works well for everyone. We'll keep you all in our prayers!

Love from KS,
Moni

Love Sydney's hair! Can you say static electricity? Ha Ha
Hope things are working out with Jenna and you don't have to get the feeding tube placed.
