Update...

First of all...CONGRATULATIONS PRINCETON TIGERS!!!! 29-0 and we won state tonight. Rob and I had tickets to go today. Instead we partied it up in the hospital room. It worked out because we didn't get the channel at home that it was broadcast on. We watched the entire thing while a big storm passed through.

Great news! We did more blood work today and her platelets are starting to come up finally. I am so glad for that. They also decided to catheter her to get another urine sample. It has come back clear so far. If everything looks good in the morning blood work we may be able to come home tomorrow. I REALLY want to come home! Jenna does too. She is tired of the IV and being confined to the room. We don't know everything yet, but I think the combination of a kidney infection and virus took it out of her. She still has a rash all over and we are controlling it with Benadryl. The poor girl. Neither of us have slept much since Wednesday. She hit her limit this afternoon and gave it up. She has been knocked out since about 5:00pm. I mean, out cold. The nurses did her vitals and I put her down for the game. She didn't move. Hopefully it will last through the entire night.
Hopefully my next update will be from home. Oh yeah, the other kids are all sick. Not like Jenna, but they are all receiving Pink Eye drops. We don't know if that is what it is or a virus. Syd ran a fever yesterday but is doing better. They all have snotty noses and are coughing. Hopefully we can go home and start getting healthy again.

Thanks to everyone who have been praying for us. God is taking care of us.

A Sick Little Girl...

Well, things were too quiet for too long. We were on a pretty good streak of good health. I thought things were beginning to look up with Spring here. Monday evening Jenna was running a low grade fever. We gave her some Tylenol and didn't think much about it.

Tuesday morning she woke up and was acting weird. I put her up to the table for breakfast and she wouldn't keep her eyes open. I can't explain it but things were definitely not okay. So, I called the doctor and rushed down there that morning. Dr. Goldman had a chest X-ray and blood work done. We also bagged her to get a urine sample. I was down there all day waiting on her to pee. No luck. Finally Dr. Goldman decided if she had a UTI she would be peeing a lot since it makes your bladder have spasms. She debated admitting her for fear of getting dehydrated. Wednesday she was worse. No eating and barely drinking. By Thursday I decided we needed to make a trip back down to the doctor. She had dropped in weight from 19lbs 7oz on Tuesday to 18lbs 13oz on Thursday morning. Dr. Goldman decided it would be best to admit her and get some fluids in her.
She was extremely dehydrated and lethargic. All she did was sleep. By Thursday evening we finally got a urine sample and had done blood work. They found mucus in her urine and have started treating her for a kidney infection. The antibiotic is really strong and she has a rash all over her head and her eyes are swollen. I think it is a reaction to the antibiotic. We will see how she does with her dose tonight. They redid blood work this morning to check her white count and platelets. I know a little of what is going on but am not going to try to explain it. I will just screw it up for those of you who know what this stuff really means. However, her blood work is not doing what it should do. We have to wait a few days to see if things are going to straighten up. If they don't, we will have to talk to a different doctor about her blood. Pray that things get better on her own. I don't know what I will do if something really serious is wrong. I will try to keep everyone posted.

Thank you in advance for your prayers.

Fun at the Park!

I'm back! Things have been crazy around here since we turned 2. We are trying to change some things up and give the kids more running room in the house. It seems to be getting harder again, but the kids are really getting big. They could climb over all the gates so we took them down. That means that the TV was a free-for-all. That is still a battle. I am forced to be in the living room at all times now. Hopefully they will start listening and remembering soon.
The weather has been absolutely perfect lately. I am so glad we are finally getting into Spring. We have been to the Kiddie Park a few times and they love it! I am so glad they can walk. Last year we went there and the pea gravel was too hard for them to walk in. Now they can climb up all the equipment and slide down all by themselves. They know how to have fun!! I do have to watch Peyton. He is up the big slide in no time flat. That boy isn't afraid of anything...except dogs.
Now, for an update on the kiddos and Jenna. Everyone is doing great. Ethan is a whopping 28 pounds. Landon and Sydney are around 22 pounds and Peyton is at 21 pounds. They are skinny and we are working on getting a supplement to help with their caloric intake. They have always been finicky eaters and we have to work on that. Jenna however is at 19 pounds. Dr. Goldman is really wanting to look into a feeding tube. I am not as comfortable with that at this point. Rob is ready to do whatever it takes to help her grow. Right now, Dawn, our Physical Therapist, is talking with a gastro doctor with Riley's to see what we could do. I won't go into all the details, but we want to check into hormonal deficiency's and some other stuff. Basically, if Jenna doesn't eat because she doesn't feel hungry, a feeding tube will help her gain weight, but it won't fix the problem. I am wanting to look into what is the reasoning a little further before we jump to the feeding tube. This is going to be a slow process, but I feel better about everything.

Five Little Monkeys Jumpin In The Bed...

NONE fell out and bumped their head!! Yesterday at around 2:30 Landon started screaming during their nap. I don't generally let them up before 3:00, but he was really screaming. As I got closer to their room I noticed the noise was right by the door. When I opened the door I saw Landon trying his hardest to get the door open and Peyton having the time of his life. He was running around in the curtains and playing with the toys on the floor. I bought 3 used crib tents about 6 months ago anticipating this day. Thankfully I was prepared. They thought the tents were so cool in the beginning. Everyone got in and jumped around. Now, Peyton and Landon don't think they are very cool.

On a side note, tomorrow is the kids 2 year check-up. Keep us in your prayers. Jenna had to go to the doctor yesterday for a double ear infection. She has dropped 5oz from her 18month check-up. Dr. Goldman wants to sit down and discuss other avenues for her again. Yes, this means a feeding tube. I really don't want to do this, but I don't want to hinder her growth either. We will investigate all avenues of this and hopefully come up with something else. As of yesterday she weighed 18lbs 11oz. I don't know what else to do.
